Notice – dog enumeration beginning August 1, 2022

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, The Town of Parish will be conducting an Enumeration (Dog Census) beginning August 1st, 2022. All residents will be receiving a Licensing information request form by mail. Please be sure to fill out the questionnaire regardless if you harbor a dog or not.  Article 7 of the New York State Agriculture and Market Law requires all dogs older than 4 months must be licensed within the town they reside. Licensing insures that all dogs have been properly vaccinated against rabies for the protection of both you and your neighbors. Licensing also ensures that your dog has the best chance to be returned to you the owner.  Any dog being harbored for more than 30 days must be licensed.

If you have any questions regarding licensing your dog, please call 315-625-4507.

The dog control officer will be following up with an in-person visit for anyone that does not return the Enumeration questionnaire beginning September 1st, 2022. You may either respond by mail or by dropping the form off at the Town Offices.
