Parish Seeks Assessment Board of Review Applicants

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, The Parish Town Board is advertising for a vacancy on the Assessment Board of Review. The term will begin immediately and will expire on 9/30/2027.  Assessment Board of Review Members are expected to attend classes offered annually regarding the grievance process.

The responsibilities of an Assessment Board of Review Member is to attend Grievance Procedure on the 4th Tuesday in May and hear all grievance complaints brought before the Board to determine if the assessment should be changed.

All letters of interest and or resumes should be submitted to Kelly Reader, Parish Town Clerk, PO Box 66, Parish, NY 13131 by December 22, 2021 no later than 4:00 pm.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, the Town of Parish is accepting Resumes/Letters of Interest for the position of Sole Appointed Assessor. This appointment would be filling a vacancy that would expire on 9/30/2025.

Notice of Completion — Final Assessment Roll

Pursuant to Section 516, NYS Real Property Tax Law, the Sole Assessor, Town of Parish, County of Oswego, NY has completed the current year’s Final Assessment roll, and has filed a certified copy thereof with the Office of Town Clerk for public inspection.  Said copy is available for public inspection at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street Parish, New York 13131, beginning July 1, 2020. TOWN OF PARISH — GRIEVANCE DAY UPDATE 2020

Grievance Day is scheduled on May 26, from 5pm to 9pm at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street Parish, New York 13131

If you wish to grieve your assessment you are encouraged to submit your RP-524 form along with all supporting documentation to the assessor before May 26.  In order to limit the number of people on Grievance Day (Due to COVID-19) you are not required to appear in person. The Grievance board will consider all information you submit and make a determination.  Please contact the assessor at 315-625-4669 for the easiest way to submit your form.  

In person hearings will still be available.  There will be a sign up sheet on the front door for residents. Only one petitioner will be allowed in the building at a time.  All COVID-19 social distancing procedures will be followed. Petitioners must wear a mask and remain 6 feet apart at all times. 

Resident are encouraged to speak with the assessor prior to Grievance Day with any questions.
