Parish Town Board May regular meeting via Zoom, Thursday, May 21, 2020, 6:30 p.m.

Due to the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Emergency and State and Federal bans on large meetings or gatherings and pursuant to Governor Cuomo’s Executive Order 202.1 issued on March 12, 2020 suspending the Open Meetings Law, the Parish Town Board has scheduled a Zoom Meeting for Thursday, May 21, 2020, to be held electronically via Zoom teleconference instead of a public meeting open for the public to attend in person. The Zoom meeting will begin at 6:30 pm or shortly after.

Please note that the village gym will not be open for the public to be physically present at this meeting. The Zoom accommodations are intended to provide for the public’s right to know how the town’s business is being conducted while still maintaining both group size limitations and physical distancing considerations currently in effect.

TOWN OF PARISH — GRIEVANCE DAY UPDATE 2020

Grievance Day is scheduled on May 26, from 5pm to 9pm at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street Parish, New York 13131

If you wish to grieve your assessment you are encouraged to submit your RP-524 form along with all supporting documentation to the assessor before May 26.  In order to limit the number of people on Grievance Day (Due to COVID-19) you are not required to appear in person. The Grievance board will consider all information you submit and make a determination.  Please contact the assessor at 315-625-4669 for the easiest way to submit your form.  

In person hearings will still be available.  There will be a sign up sheet on the front door for residents. Only one petitioner will be allowed in the building at a time.  All COVID-19 social distancing procedures will be followed. Petitioners must wear a mask and remain 6 feet apart at all times. 

Resident are encouraged to speak with the assessor prior to Grievance Day with any questions. 

Notice — Parish town board to participate in teleconference meeting Monday, May 11, 2020

UPDATE: This meeting has been cancelled due to anticipated lack of a quorum.

The Parish Town Board will be attending a Zoom Meeting on Monday, May 11, 2020 beginning at 7:00 pm.  The purpose of the Zoom Meeting is to discuss the engineering proposals that were received for the Town of Parish Joint Water Project. The board will be entering into an executive session to discuss the proposals, as it is a matter leading to an appointment of a particular corporation.

The public will be able to observe the meeting portion that takes place before and after the executive session, including any actions taken by the board, which will take place in the public session.

May 13 rabies clinic in Parish is postponed

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Health Department has postponed its rabies clinic for pets that was scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, at the Oswego County DPW Garage in Parish.

Health officials hope to resume the rabies clinics later this season. Until then, people should contact their veterinarian to schedule an appointment if their pet is overdue on its rabies vaccination.

All animal bites, whether from a domestic animal or wildlife, should be reported to the health department as soon as possible. To report an animal bite or seek guidance concerning potential exposures to rabies, call 315-349-3557, weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m., or call 315-341-0086 after regular business hours, weekends and holidays.

Public Notice — Parish Town Board participation in Zoom Meeting Thursday, April 30, 2020

            PLEASE TAKE NOTICE,  The Parish Town Board will be attending a Zoom Meeting on April 30th, 2020 beginning at 7:00 pm.  The purpose of the Zoom Meeting is to review Request for Proposals that were received for the Town of Parish Joint Water Project. Four proposals were received from engineering firms and the fifth proposal received was from a Grant Writer.

The Zoom Meeting on April 30th, 2020 will be an Executive Session as it is a matter leading to an appointment of a particular corporation.

Food Bank at Parish Fire Station 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21

The food bank of Central New York will be holding a mobile food pantry distribution in the parking lot of the Parish Fire Station, 16 Union Street, Parish, New York. It will be drive through style, with no gathering of people. Anyone in need of food is encouraged to attend and receive a free box of food. Boxes will be limited to one per household. and will be distributed while supplies last. There are no income requirements for families and individuals wishing to receive food.
